Master degree in Biological Sciences, University of Milan (1985) and PhD in Ecology at the University of Parma (1990). He is Associated Editor of the magazine “Journal of Paleolimnology” and of the magazine “Journal of Limnology”.\r\n

The research activity is focused on the assessment of the impacts of global changes on aquatic ecosystems through the study of algal biomarkers, with particular attention to changes on a secular and millennial scale. He was involved in measurements of both chemical (carbon, nitrogen, and sulphur – measured with the elemental analyser – CNS -, organic substance, carbonates, and phosphorus) and biological parameters (measurement of algal pigments with chromatographic techniques on both thin layer – TLC- and high pressure – HPLC) in sediment cores taken both in Italian and foreign lakes.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
